Hormones – Striking the right balance!

If our bodies are a factory, then hormones are the ‘managers’ that keep it functioning at optimum productivity. If these ‘managers’ are not in control, they have a negative impact on our overall well-being.

While man-made versions of hormones, called steroids, are prescribed by doctors to treat imbalances, their unregulated use in the conventional dairy industry is a cause for concern worldwide. Dairy farmers rely on induced hormones to increase their milk production by up to 15% and to treat fertility concerns that result from an imbalanced diet and poor management. These hormones are passed into the milk which is eventually consumed by us.

The cause for ailments like anxiety, depression, weight gain, increased blood pressure, and intestinal distress is often attributed to diet. It is a lesser-known fact that prolonged consumption of hormone-adulterated milk contributes to these ailments and other serious concerns like early onset of puberty in girls, development of breasts in males, abortions in pregnant women, and children being born with deformities

At Akshayakalpa Organic, the health and care of our cows is our priority. Cows are never treated with growth hormone supplements to increase production or alter their fertility cycles.
