Sustainability at our farm – Part 1
We use foot pedals instead of taps at our farms to save water.
Washing your hands, face or utensils with the water running, leads to a wastage of 19 liters of water with every wash.
At our farms, we perform a large number of sustainable activities. One of which is a simple innovation for washbasins. We have included a foot pedal to start water from the tap. The main reason to do this was:
People love convenience – Generally, in a conventional tap, most people conveniently open the tap and let the water run while they continue their washing/cleaning which results in a lot of water being wasted.
But now we have removed the convenience factor from our washbasins. When you have to push a pedal for water to come out of the tap, you make sure to cut off the effort when you don’t want to use it. This way we save tones of water from being wasted everyday.
What do you do to save water on a daily basis?
