You might remember having these tasty antidote of sunthi(Ginger), jaggery, and ghee balls in childhood especially in winter season as it gives immunization against cold and cough. These laddus also given during post pregnancy period to reduce vata.
Dry ginger (Sonth or Shunthi) according to the Amarakosha, an ancient Indian Sanskrit dictionary, is called Vishwa bheshaj which literally means universal medicine due to its magical uses. Its aromatic and zingy flavour not only enhances flavours of food but also used extensively in ayurvedic medicines. Dry ginger has calming and soothing effect on Vata and Kapha and can increases Pitta. Dry ginger is a natural pain killer, used in Ayurveda to relieve all types of pain including abdominal colicky pain, joint pain, headaches and menstrual pain as it balances vata dosha in body. Relieves swelling, pain in joints, stiffness, rheumatoid arthritis.
Ingredients
- Dry ginger powder
- Jaggery (gur)
- Akshayakalpa Organic Ghee
Directions
Step 1
Take equal amounts of dry ginger powder (sonth), jaggery (gur) and ghee
Step 2
Mix well and roll it into small balls. Start and end your day with one laddu.
